Rick brings over 40 years’ of real estate experience and corporate governance to Emerge Capital. Having previously held several high profile listed board and management positions, Rick has instilled a strong corporate governance culture at Emerge Capital and provides overarching strategic direction and guidance to the firm.

Rick has delivered numerous landmark projects throughout Asia, Europe and Australia, as well as a number of acclaimed Government led projects. He was formerly the Senior Executive of Lendlease and a director of several Lendlease subsidiary companies. He has held board positions on numerous Government Corporations as well as publicly listed companies.

Managing Partner

Tim founded Emerge Capital in 2008 and is the firm’s Managing Partner. Tim leads the firm’s private equity and investments business where he covers the real estate, infrastructure and major projects sectors. This includes direct investment, corporate finance and capital markets advice, mergers and acquisitions, fund structuring and securitisation, work out recapitalisation advice, and major urban renewal development.

Prior to founding Emerge Capital, Tim practiced corporate finance and funds management law, advising on real estate, infrastructure and private equity transactions globally. He has worked with a number of private, institutional and government clients including providing advice throughout Asia, North America, the Middle East and Europe. Tim gained extensive experience in Europe with Credit Suisse Asset Management, Barclays Global Investors, and BNP Paribas. He was responsible for advising Credit Suisse's global real estate and private equity funds throughout Europe, the Middle East and Asia and North America.

Partner, Head of Transactions

Nathan is responsible for leading Emerge Capital’s Transactions business. This also includes heading the firm’s international business in Asia and the Middle East which focuses on facilitating offshore capital into the pan Asian real estate sector.

Nathan has 20 years’ real estate experience throughout Asia and Australia at Lendlease, Morgan Stanley, CapitaLand and Taubman Centres. Throughout his career Nathan has developed extensive experience in the office, retail, residential and mixed use sectors through a comprehensive track record across funds management, asset management, development and property management.

Non-Executive Director, Asia

Peter is responsible for leading Emerge Capital’s Asia business with particular focus on facilitating wholesale offshore capital into the real estate sector. Based in Singapore, Peter provides the firm with an important presence in the region with strong relationships to institutional capital.

Peter has more than 30 years’ of experience in real estate, corporate and commercial law. During his past role as Chief Executive Officer of the Asia Pacific Real Estate Association (APREA), Peter built an extensive network around the region, including among investors and regulators, and was a driving force behind regulatory improvements, expanded research and improved best practice standards in the Asia-Pacific real estate sector.

Partner, Head of Europe

Dirk is responsible for leading Emerge Capital’s European operations and leads the ECP European Healthcare Real Estate Fund, a Luxembourg domiciled investment vehicle.  Dirk's role includes facilitating offshore capital investment into and from Europe and Asia.  Based in Luxembourg and Germany, Dirk is an important presence in the Pan-European region and brings a wealth of advisory, asset management and investment management expertise.

Prior to joining Emerge Capital, Dirk was a Board Member of German M-DAX listed Aareal Bank Group, CEO of Allianz Real Estate, and CEO of Vivico Real Estate. He has also acted as a principal in funds management, balancing his time between Germany and Singapore. Dirk has a background in real estate commercial finance and venture capital, having previously worked at Deutsche Bank. Altogether, his experience encompasses circa 30 years of expertise in the alternative asset sectors.

Director, Head of Advisory

Michael is responsible for leading the Advisory practice and advises clients in undertaking financial, strategic and operational reviews of their business and portfolio companies. His experience includes real estate and corporate strategy, capital market strategy, and major urban regeneration and mixed-use development.

Prior to joining Emerge Capital, Michael was a Management Consultant in the United Arab Emirates working for Accenture to advise leading Banks, Financial Institutions, Healthcare Consortiums, Construction Groups and Governments in the region. Michael has advised on complex projects including the redevelopment and extension of the new Abu Dhabi International Airport, the establishment and development of multiple health care infrastructure assets throughout the region, and the workout strategies for a number of complex portfolios for banks in the region.


Non-Executive Director, Advisory

Martin Locke is one of Australia's leading authorities on infrastructure finance. Martin is a former Partner of PwC, having led their Infrastructure Advisory practice in Sydney over the period 2001-2014, after 23 years in investment banking with Deutsche Morgan Grenfell. Martin has provided financial and commercial advice on some of Australia's largest and most complex infrastructure projects including PPPs. He is able to advise on all aspects of the project life cycle from feasibility/business case, through to procurement, financing and financial close. He was the lead financial adviser to Government on Lane Cove Tunnel, NSW Rollingstock, Royal North Shore Hospital Redevelopment, Gold Coast Rapid Transit and Perth Stadium.

Non-Executive Director, Middle East

Adam has had extensive exposure working for multinationals and regional conglomerates in executive and non-executive roles in key Middle Eastern markets, particularly in the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) countries comprising: the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman.  As a Non-Executive Director of Emerge Capital’s Advisory Board, Adam brings valuable regional insights and awareness across the Middle East.

Adam has held multiple senior management positions in the Middle East, including as COO of Saffar Capital, a multi-family office with private equity, asset management and corporate advisory business lines, and as COO of Arabian Real Estate Investment Trust, the Middle Eastern real estate private equity subsidiary of the HSBC Group. Within these roles, Adam was responsible for, amongst other things, strategic, investment and board-level matters. Adam also has significant trade and investment links between Australia, Asia and the Middle East, holding positions of influence including as Chairman of the Australian Business Council in Dubai, as a director of the Australia Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry and as a director of the Australian Lebanese Chamber of Commerce.  In his current executive role, he is responsible for international trade and business development at Arab Bank Australia.

Executive Director, Advisory

Peter brings over 30 years’ experience to Emerge Capital in project, investment, development and general management. This experience provides important and pragmatic insights to the firm’s real estate advisory business with a particular emphasis on development and investment management.

Throughout his career Peter has worked for Lendlease and Investa. During this time he was responsible for managing property investment and development portfolios for Westpac, Suncorp, Tower Life and University of Western Australia. Peter is also the current Chair of the Sunshine Coast Property Council Committee and is a Director of the Sunshine Coast Business Council.


Director, Advisory

Alvaro is responsible for leading Emerge Capital Advisory business in the Middle East. Alvaro offers experience in real estate business and management consulting, tourism, hospitality and real estate advisory.  Working across MENA, CIS and Europe, Alvaro has had significant international exposure, working in multiple sectors leading projects including strategy definition, business transformation, feasibility studies and international benchmarking. 

Prior to joining Emerge Capital, Alvaro was a key member of the Strategy and Research team at Majid al Futtaim Properties based in Dubai.  Having lived for 9 years in the Middle East, Alvaro has delivered a number of projects in the GCC across multiple asset classes.

Alvaro is native in Spanish and French and is fluent in English. He obtained his MBA and BSc in Business Administration at ESADE Business School in Barcelona and undertook the Program of International Management at HEC Paris. 

Investor Relations, Transactions & Private Equity

Stephanie is responsible for managing Emerge Capital’s Chinese institutional capital relationships. Based in Beijing, Stephanie is involved with regular Emerge Capital China road shows & events and maintains frequent dialogues with investors.

Stephanie is native in Mandarin and fluent in English and has a Master’s degree in business communication, culture and technology from Georgetown University, Washington DC.

Director, Advisory

Based in Europe, Sean is a specialist in advising on real estate and infrastructure financing, and has advised on complex portfolio transactions, work outs and restructures. As a Chartered Financial Analyst, Sean brings a global perspective with notable experience in advising international firms and governments across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

Prior to joining Emerge Capital, Sean advised on risk analysis and real estate product development at State Street Global Advisors. Sean specialises in performing portfolio reviews, conducting in-depth financial analysis and is especially adept at modelling large complex real estate portfolios.

Associate Director, Transactions & Private Equity

James joined Emerge Capital in January 2017 having previously worked with market leading real estate institutions in the United Kingdom and Australia.  James has over 10 years experience in the real estate industry with a focus on commercial property valuations, commercial development, funds management and private equity. James most recently worked in the Capital Transactions team with Lendlease where he was directly responsible for sourcing and executing acquisitions and disposals on behalf of the Investment Management and Development businesses.        

Associate Director, Advisory

John is an Associate Director in the Advisory practice, bringing with him a wealth of experience advising public and private sector clients on major property and infrastructure projects throughout Australia, Asia and the Middle East. His experience in the property sector extends across a wide range of asset classes; including Retail, Office, Residential, Hotel and Mixed Use, as well alternative assets such as Healthcare and Convention Centres. John’s experience extends across the full asset life cycle, from feasibility studies and development strategies to distressed asset workouts and divestment strategies.

John’s breadth of experience in the economic and financial appraisal of projects give him a broad understanding of both the demand fundamentals and also the financial dynamics that underpin successful property development. He prides himself on giving advice that is well-researched, insightful and pragmatic.

Associate Director, Transactions & Private Equity

Francesca brings experience in asset management, separate account and fund management, and real estate transactions across multiple sectors.  Previously based in London, Francesca has worked in roles both client side, as well within advisory teams and is also a chartered surveyor.

Prior to joining Emerge Capital, Francesca worked as Acquisitions Manager at Topland, a £3.5bn private property company. Previously, Francesca worked with Jones Lang LaSalle Corporate Finance before joining LaSalle Investment Management, operating across several separate accounts and funds.

Associate Director, Advisory

Brewin provides insights from his broad analytical background in financial modelling and research.  His expertise lies in equities research of real estate companies, and is respected for his ability to identify trends and conduct detailed financial analysis. Brewin specialises in independent valuations, feasibility analysis, asset work-out strategy, funding analysis, fund structuring and asset securitisation for government and private clients including Dexus, Lendlease and the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority.

Prior to joining Emerge Capital, Brewin held roles as a project manager with Premier Consulting, specialising in the senior living and aged care sector, and as an equities analyst, dealing with companies such as Integrity Investment Management, UBS and AMP Capital. 

Senior Analyst, Transactions & Private Equity

Ansh specialises in providing buy- and sell-side advice, as well as valuation and investment analysis for large scale complex real estate.  Ansh has a strong background in feasibility analysis and financial modelling in a variety of real estate asset classes including office, retail and complex mixed use developments.

Prior to joining Emerge Capital, Ansh worked in property analytics at Brookfield Asset Management as well as the Investment Banking division at Credit Suisse.


Senior Analyst, Advisory

Nicholas offers multiple years’ experience consulting across a range of industries including financial services, oil and gas, and aviation. Nicholas’ project experience includes engagements supporting strategy and transformation, market entry and research studies, and financial modelling. Nicholas has worked for a range of clients in Australia and in Asia.

Prior to joining Emerge Capital, Nicholas worked as a management consultant within the financial services practice at Oliver Wyman. Nicholas has also gained experience at Deutsche Bank within the Industrials Coverage team covering consumer, retail, and healthcare clients.

Senior Analyst, Transactions & Private Equity

James specialises in buy-side and sell-side advisory with real estate transactions experience across multiple sectors. His predominant focus involves analysing investments and building financial models across Europe.

Prior to joining Emerge Capital, James worked as a management consultant within the financial services practice at Oliver Wyman. James has also gained direct real estate acquisitions experience at Europa Capital underwriting deals across Europe. James has an MPhil in Real Estate Finance from the University of Cambridge.

Analyst, Transactions & Private Equity

Daniel provides corporate financial advice to help clients make investment decisions across the wide range of real estate and infrastructure asset classes. He specialises in the major project, hospitality, healthcare sectors to a wide range of global clients.

Prior to joining Emerge Capital, Daniel worked in the Audit and Advisory business at KPMG, advising global companies and investment banks such as the Goodman Property Group and Deutsche Bank.

Analyst, Advisory

Mathemorn has a background in finance and engineering, offering interdisciplinary experience in research and business analysis. She has experience working with commercial office and residential asset classes, including strategic analysis and business case development for both Government and private sector clients.

Prior to joining Emerge Capital, Mathemorn worked within Deloitte’s consulting division, advising major clients including the NSW Department of Finance, Services and Innovation, and Australian Associated Press.


Analyst, Transactions & Private Equity

Sachin provides advice to both buy- and sell-side clients in relation to global real estate investments across several asset classes, including complex mixed-use, office and residential developments. Sachin has a background in corporate finance involving capital raises, asset sales, and advising debt providers with substantial exposures in distressed situations.

Prior to joining Emerge Capital, Sachin worked with FTI Consulting’s restructuring segment, and in one of Macquarie’s securitised lending teams.


Analyst, Advisory

Aya has an academic background in Law combined with Applied Finance and is admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales. Aya is currently working towards a Master of Finance at the University of New South Wales.

Prior to joining Emerge Capital, Aya worked as a Lawyer at the Australian Securities and Investments Commission within the Market Integrity Enforcement team on the high-profile BBSW investigation.

Head of Operations

Joy is responsible for the administrative operations of all three business units of Emerge Capital. Joy has an academic background in financial econometrics, accounting and aeronautical engineering with honours. Joy is bilingual and is fluent in English and Mandarin.

Prior to joining Emerge Capital, Joy was a business analyst in the mining industry, advising on the structure, performance and forecasting of the domestic Chinese mining industry.


Cici is an integral part of the Emerge Capital team, and performs the administrative operations of Emerge Capital. She is fluent in Mandarin and has a Master in Translating and Interpreting as well as a Master of International Relations at Macquarie University.

Prior to joining Emerge Capital, Cici worked at Acer Computers, in customer service for the Pacific region.

The team is supported by a number of Analysts with backgrounds in real estate investment banking, private equity, and advisory services.
