Circular Quay Tower ("CQT") is a premium office and retail development in Sydney’s CBD with unrivaled views over Sydney Harbour. The development will also include a new public plaza and laneways with a high quality food and beverage retail offer. CQT will be the tallest office building in Australia.

 

Emerge Capital'S Role

Following being engaged 3 times previously as a professional advisor on various phases of the proposed development, Emerge Capital acted as Independent Buy-Side Financial Advisor to Mitsubishi Estate Asia (“MEA”). This involved successfully supporting MEA to participate in a JV with Lendlease and Ping An Real Estate on Circular Quay Tower.  Emerge Capital worked with MEA to develop and execute a transaction bid strategy. The role also involved managing MEA’s due diligence process including management of consultants and a peer review of recommendations provided.  Emerge Capital assisted in reviewing and negotiation of transaction documentation bringing the transaction to a successful close on a tight timescale.

 

OUTCOME

Emerge Capital successfully facilitated MEA’s participation in a city defining office development by way of a 30% equity interest in a development JV with Lendlease (20%) and Ping An Real Estate (50%).
